Teaching & Lectures
Undergraduate programmes at the college are all taught in courses which last for a semester. Although teaching is intensive, with a whole morning or afternoon dedicated to a particular course, this structure means that students get the opportunity to explore subjects in depth together. It also means that those who wish to come to the college simply to take one individual course do not need to come in for more than one day per week.
Lecturers use a variety of teaching methods, with straightforward lecturing being interspersed with the use of more interactive teaching methods, including group discussion, reflection on personal reading,
case studies, role playing and the use of appropriate video material.
Our taught Masters programmes are also taught in courses lasting a term, but teaching usually takes place intensively over one or two days, or in the case of the MTh Ministry in an Urban World programme in the form of residencies.
