Snowballs

A Christmas Blog may be a bit like a snow ball. It can be given and received in good fun or it may have serious consequences. Snowballs can have gravel, stone or glass in them, not to mention frozen liquids other than water. Even the most benign beautifully formed snowball can melt into an uncomfortable soggy mess.

Christmas itself can be the same; the beautiful presents carefully wrapped can come with a shovel full of damaging debt for the giver. Good cheer may not be all that is behind the giving and receiving. Good cheer was not all that was behind the gift of that very special baby whose arrival we celebrate.

However, if it were ‘always winter and never Christmas’ we would be a very sorry lot. Let’s make the most of the snow when it comes and rejoice most over the gifts that money can’t buy.
